My work is concerned with the home as a concept, the emotional space, the psychological construct that gives security. These concepts are self-constructed through collections of objects, relationships, and events. Rather than pronouncing answers, my work explores the processes and rituals surrounding the domestic sphere through reenacting and/or recreating them.
My work not only remembers and honors the things that have built my own understanding of home, but asks the viewer to do the same though built up layers that reveal and conceal previous layers letting the viewer fill in the gaps with their own experience and history.
